The Sheboygan Falls Falcons (18-7) will face the Grafton Blackhawks (15-10) in a WIAA Division 2 sectional semifinal girls basketball playoff game Thursday, March 18, at West Bend at 7 p.m.

Falls has defeated Mayville 71-46, Plymouth 55-28 and Kettle Moraine Lutheran 63-43 to get the sectional semifinal. Grafton has recorded victories over Whitefish Bay 32-25, Brown Deer 50-39 and Young Coggs Prep 63-14 to advance to sectionals.

The Falcons are led by senior Lauren Carman, who is averaging 14.7 points per game and 10 rebounds per game.

Senior Emilie Leffin (11 points per game, nine rebounds), freshman Staci Hasler (8 points per game) junior Brooke Buehler (6.7 points per game) and junior Cassie Quirt (6.1 points per game) have also been key offensive contributors for the Falcons.

Sophomore Hannah Eichler (9 points per game) and senior Myranda Tyler (8.8 points per game), lead the Blackhawks’ offense.

“Grafton is a tough defensive team,” said Falcons coach Leroy Hamilton. “The games get tougher from here on, but our non-conference schedule has prepared the girls well.”

If the Falcons get past Grafton, they will travel to Waukesha South High School to face either Pewaukee or New Berlin Eisenhower in a WIAA Division 2 sectional final playoff game Saturday, March 20, at 1 p.m. for a chance to advance to the state tournament.
