Workshop to promote bicycling in Falls
The Sheboygan County Planning and Resources Department has scheduled a free Bicycle Friendly Community Workshop Tuesday, March 30, at the Sheboygan Falls City Hall Municipal Building.
The goal of the workshop, which runs from 1-5 p.m., is to identify ways to encourage more people to bicycle more places more often. All ideas for increasing bike riding will be welcome.
The event will include presentations from national experts, who will discuss examples of how education, engineering, encouragement and enforcement actions communities throughout the United States have become more bicycle-friendly in recent years.
Workshop participants will meet in small groups to set goals, which will be reported back to the group.
By the end of the workshop, participants will have a basic action plan that can be used to make a community more bicycle-friendly.
Participants are encouraged to bring a bicycle if they wish to take part in a ride to assess specific biking conditions in Sheboygan Falls.
Those unable to attend are encourage to contact Mary Ebeling at the Sheboygan County Planning and Resources office to receive a copy of the recommendations made at the workshop.
