TYA shares wisdom of `Aesop’s Fables’ this weekend
Who will win the race, the Tortoise or the Hare? Will Mr. Fox outsmart Madame Crow? Will the Mouse save the Lion? Families can find out at Theater For Young Audiences’ “Aesop’s Fables” at 2 p.m. Saturday, March 27 and Sunday, March 28, at the Sheboygan Masonic Mansion, 411 St. Clair Ave.
“All ages enjoy `Aesop’s Fables,’” remarked Karen Humiston, a member of the cast. “Parents and grandparents recall these stories from their childhoods and the kids have fun with the animals.”
“I am glad I get to act silly,” added actor Joseph Humiston. “I play the Fox, Hare and Mouse. My favorite character is the Hare, who is always running around.”
“It’s remarkable that these stories have entertained human beings for thousands of years. The fables are famous for their morals, but they share wisdom in a fun way,” commented Karen, who plays the Tortoise, Lion, Crow, Donkey, and Owl.
Karen and Joe most recently appeared in Theater For Young Audiences’ “Charlotte’s Web” as the County Fair Judge and Avery respectively.
This fast-paced family comedy is directed by Deb Sabol-Williams and sponsored by Acuity and the Arts, Sargento Foods, and the Wisconsin Arts Board.
Tickets are available online at www.tyasheboygan.org, by phone at 458-8184, or at the door one hour prior to each performance.
