DMV offices to close Friday

Wisconsin Division of Motor Vehicles offices will be closed for business Friday, April 2, as DMV staff members take another day of the required 16 unpaid days that must be taken over the two-year budget period.

Employee furloughs for all university and state employees are part of the 2009–2011 state budget.

DMV’s automated phone system will remain available so that motorists can still make road test appointments and have access to recorded information.

Titling and registration services are offered by many third-party partners such as some police stations, grocery stores and financial institutions around the state and can be found at the DOT web site.

DMV would like to remind customers that many services like vehicle registration renewal do not require a visit to a service center and are available online 24 hours a day, seven days a week.

All DMV offices will resume regular business hours on Monday, April 5.
