ROBERT GASIOROWSKI
Robert (Bob) Gasiorowski, age 70, of Plymouth, passed away on Wednesday, March 24, 2010, after suffering from complications of Parkinson’s, at the Plymouth Care Center where he had been a resident for the past four years.
He was born on Sept. 19, 1939, in Milwaukee, son of the late Paul and Josephine (Hauke) Gasiorowski.
He married Peggy (Margaret) Tuominen on June 20, 1964, in Milwaukee. The couple made their home in Milwaukee until 1992 when they moved to Plymouth.
Bob served in the United States Navy from 1956-1962 where he earned many medals as an expert pistol shot and good conduct awards. His patriotism was very evident throughout his life; he would always shed a tear when he heard the song “A Soldier’s Silent Night” by Father Ted.
He worked in heavy industry for many years until he enrolled in the MATC program for food service. His employment included Luther Haven, Cardinal Stritch College, and Lakeland College, from where he retired due to health reasons after eight years of service.
Bob was an avid hunter and fisherman, always finding an opportunity to enjoy the out-of-doors. He loved to go camping with his family, and loved gardening, which was evident by his green thumb.
He had a great love of animals; he enjoyed having dogs all his life. His faithful friend and guardian Trudy (a miniature dachshund) always protected him and was a very special part of his life.
Because of Bob’s strong commitment to and love of his country, the couple always found themselves attending civil war weekends at the Wade House. Bob was always emotionally moved for the men and women who have died for our freedom and for those who still protect that freedom today.
Survivors include his loving wife of almost 46 years, Peggy of Plymouth; three sons, David Gasiorowski, Martin (Sally) Gasiorowski and Andrew (Sarah) Gasiorowski; a brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Elmer and Vallija Gasiorowski; three grandchildren, Lisa Gasiorowski, Alex Gasiorowski, and Aubrey Paige Stone. He was also survived by several nieces and nephews, Claudia, Linda, Jayne, Eric, John, James, Allan and Chris.
He was also preceded in death by a brother, Paul; a sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Virginia and Ted Krolicki; and three nephews, Jim and John Krolicki, and Michael Gasiorowski.
Funeral services will be held at 7 p.m., Wednesday, March 31, at the Wittkopp-Schneider Funeral Home in Plymouth. Cremation will take place following the services and inurnment will take place in the Green Lawn Mausoleum. Friends may call on Wednesday at the funeral home from 4 p.m. until the time of service. Military rites will be conducted by the Worlds Cheese Center Post 5612.

The family would like to extend a special note of thanks to the Plymouth Care Center for the care

and were with him through this 10-year journey. Also deep appreciation for all of the staff of Sharon
S. Richardson Hospice for making Bob comfortable and always being at the family’s side when they
needed your comfort and support. Special thanks to Tiana, Barb, and Nancy Simenz who have been
