Junior Josh Horness of Howards Grove was voted to the All-Central Lakeshore Conference boys basketball second team for the second straight season by the league coaches.

Also earning All-CLC honors for the Tigers is senior Eric Bruesewitz who is on the second unit. The Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Resorters have one all-league selection in senior Dane Blake who was named to the second team. Blake moved up from honorable mention as a junior.

Horness, a 6-foot-5 forward, ranked ninth in the CLC in scoring with a 12.5 points-per-game average, seventh in rebounding at 7.3 per contest and sixth in free-throw shooting with 75.4 percent.

Horness was a solid 37.0 percent (17 of 46) from three-point range. He averaged 1.6 assists, .9 steals and .8 blocked shots per contest.

“He played really well. He’s moving toward the total package. I was pleased with everything he did,” said Tiger head coach Chris Schroeder.

“He expanded his game this season to include three-pointers. That helped us spread the floor and it opened up the inside for him and someone else.

“I was impressed with how hard he works. He is extremely dedicated and focused,” Schroeder said.

Blake, a 6-1 guard, had a strong overall season. He finished No. 2 in the league in scoring with a 20.5 average and steals, 3.0 per contest; first in offensive rebounds with 86; and fourth in three-point goals, 30. He was sixth in assists with a 3.5 average and rebounding, 7.5 per game; and tied for sixth in blocks with a 1.1 average.

Blake hit 35.3 percent of his three-point attempts and was 47.9 overall from the field.

“Dane played really well and was a good leader for us,” said Resorter head coach Jeremy Harrison.

“He was the most consistent player on our team. He works really hard. It was pretty impressive for him to average 20 points in our conference.

“He was definitely an all-around player. He could shoot the threes and take the ball to the basket. I think he deserved first team,” Harrison said.

“He improved a lot from his sophomore year.”

Bruesewitz, a 6-0 guard, led the CLC in three-point marksmanship with an excellent 45.1 percent (23 of 51), shared ninth in three-pointers with 23 and was 10th in scoring at 12.4 per contest.

He ranked No. 4 in assists per game at 3.76, tied for 10th in steals with a 1.7 average and tied for 10th in field-goal accuracy at 50.0 percent. Bruesewitz averaged 2.8 rebounds per game and shot 71.8 percent at the foul line.

“Eric really came on this season. He had a 2-1 assist/turnover ratio and led our team in assists and steals,” Schroeder noted.

“He had a hand in everything we did. He had an outstanding season [overall].

“He was usually on the other team’s best perimeter shooter and was a focus in a number of offensive things we did. He was our best outside shooter and was also able to post up and take the ball to the basket,” the coach said.

Senior guard Lee Veldkamp of Sheboygan Christian, senior center Jesse Anderson of Cedar Grove- Belgium and junior forward Mike Keller of Oostburg were named to the first team for the second consecutive season. Veldkamp and sophomore forward Sam Dekker of Sheboygan Lutheran were unanimous first-team picks.

League co-champions Oostburg and Christian have a league-high two first-team players each.
