WESLEY J. TENHAKEN
Wesley J. TenHaken, age 90, went home to be with his Lord on Sunday, March 28, 2010, at the Countryside Manor in Sheboygan.
He was born April 28, 1919 in Cedar Grove, son of the late Henry and Ida (Dana) TenHaken. He graduated from Cedar Grove Academy.
On Aug. 30, 1940, he married Blanche Hilbelink at the First Reformed Church in Cedar Grove. She preceded him in death Nov. 6, 2000.
After his marriage, Wesley entered the United States Army and served during World War II in the 588th Division Signal Corps.
The couple lived in Cedar Grove before moving to Clintonville and then lived several years in Portage. In 1963 they moved to Plymouth, where they purchased the Nelson Jewelry Store. The Ten Hakens operated their jewelry store in Plymouth for 25 years, before retiring in 1989.
He was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ in Plymouth, a member of the Ladewig-Zinkgraf American Legion Post #246 of Plymouth; he was an active member of the Plymouth Rotary, where he obtained perfect attendance for duration of 33 years.
In his free time, Wesley enjoyed the countless fishing trips he took with his friends to Canada. He is survived by his nieces and nephews, along with many great-nieces and great-nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Blanche; and two brothers, Ivan and Eldon.
Funeral services will be held at noon Wednesday, April 7, at the First Congregational United Church of Christ in Plymouth with the Rev. William Rishel, pastor of the church, officiating. Burial will follow in the Cedar Grove Cemetery.
Friends may call Wednesday at the church
from 10:30 a.m. until the time of service.
