Local History Expo reservation deadline is April 24

The public is invited to a Local History Expo from 3-7 p.m. Monday, May 3, at the Range Line Inn in Kohler.

Participants will learn about local history and support the area organizations working to preserve it.

Special guests this year include Jerry Apps, popular author and speaker about Wisconsin history; Ellsworth Brown, the director of the Wisconsin Historical Society; John Broihahn, Wisconsin state archeologist; Lance Herdegen, Civil War author and speaker; and music provided by the Sheboygan-based Michael Lee Ammons and the Water Street Hot Shots.

Tickets are available from Doegnitz Hardware, Burmesch Variety, members of the RL Area Historical Society or from any of the co-hosting organizations listed below. Ticket includes admission to the Local History Expo and programs, the opportunity to meet the special guest, a tasty buffet ham dinner with dessert and four hours of period music. Of every ticket sold by the RL Area Historical Society, $10 will be donated back to the organization.

Groups in attendance include Random Lake Area Historical Society, Aviation Heritage Center, Plymouth Historical Society, Centreville Settlement, Inc., Heritage School, Sheboygan County Historical Museum, New Holstein Historical Society, Sheboygan County Historical Research Center, Kiel Historical Society, Manitowoc Civil War Roundtable, Manitowoc Oostburg Historical Society, Wade House Historic Site, WEST/Wisconsin’s Ethnic Settlement Trail, and the Wisconsin Historical Society.
