LUCILLE K. YEKENEWICZ
Lucille K. “Lucy” Yekenewicz, age 67, of N3496 Highview Road, Cascade, Wis., passed away Wednesday, March 31, 2010, at St. Luke’s Medical Center in Milwaukee, following an extended illness.
She was born Dec. 24, 1942, in Portland, Tenn., a daughter of the late Ernest and Estelle (Dobbs) Keen.
She graduated from Portland High School in 1961.
In 1961, she married Charles E. Henderson. The couple lived in Gallatin, Tenn., where Lucy had worked as a school bus driver for a number of years.
She was then married to Nickolas Yekenewicz on May 14, 1983. They have made their home in the town of Mitchell all their married life.
Lucy had worked with her husband in “Nick's Trucking” and had also worked at the 5th Wheel Restaurant near Plymouth. She had bowled in a couples bowling league for a number of years.
Lucy's main focus was her family and spending time in her gardens and simply being outdoors and tending to her bird feeding.
Survivors include her husband, Nick; four children, Neal Henderson of Bethpage, Tenn., Stephanie Collins of Elberton Ga., Wilson Henderson of the town of Mitchell and Nicole Gilbertson of the town of Plymouth; her twin sister, Louise (Bobby) Morris of Hendersonville, Tenn.; one brother, Larry (Sharon) Keen of Portland, Tenn.; five grandchildren, Joshua Pfingsten, Stephanie, Victoria and Jenny Collins, and Tyler Gilbertson; her mother-in-law, Rosemary Yekenewicz of the town of Mitchell; as well as numerous loving nieces, nephews and cousins; her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Joe (Joyce ) Yekenewicz of Waldo, Tom Yekenewicz of Sheboygan, Linda (Gerry) Seil of Adell, Alice (Howie) Feldmann of Plymouth and Al (Mary Ann) Yekenewicz of Sheboygan.
She was preceded in death by one son, Dwayne Henderson; and one brother, Ernest Keen Jr.; and her father-in-law, Peter Yekenewicz.
Funeral services were held Saturday afternoon, April 3, at the Wittkopp-Schneider Funeral Home in Plymouth. The Rev. David Kimmel, pastor of First Baptist Church in Plymouth, officiated. Burial was in Mt. Pleasant Cemetery.
