ROSEMARY MOONEY GORDON
Rosemary Mooney Gordon, age 81, of Appleton, Wis., passed away unexpectedly Saturday, March 27, 2010 at her home.
She was born April 23, 1928 in Plymouth, Wis., a daughter of the late Bernard R. and Ellen Conway Mooney. She attended Plymouth Grade School and graduated from St. Mary’s Academy in Milwaukee. She attended State Teachers College in Milwaukee.
On July 3, 1948, she married Darrel A. Gordon in Plymouth. The couple resided in Plymouth after their marriage.
She was employed by G.T.E. for several years. The couple then moved to Berlin, Wis. They owned and operated the Gordon’s East Plaza Grocery Store located in Wautoma, Wis., until their divorce.
She then resided in Oshkosh and since 1995 has lived in Appleton. She worked at Mercury Marine in Oshkosh until 1980 then worked at Oshkosh Truck until retiring in 1993.
She is a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Appleton.
Rosemary was also an avid reader.
Survivors include three sons: William (Yvonne) Gordon of Menomonee Falls, Wis.; Dennis Gordon of Tulsa, Okla., and Tim (Lori) Gordon of Neenah, Wis.; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Janet Mooney of Plymouth, Wis., and Elizabeth Mooney of Rockville, Md.; and also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
She was also preceded in death by one goddaughter, Theresa Gordon, and two brothers, William and Bernard Mooney.
Funeral Mass will be held at noon Friday, April 9, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth. The Very Rev. Dennis Van Beek, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in the parish cemetery.
