Panthers win JV soccer opener

PLYMOUTH – The Plymouth junior varsity girls soccer team opened its season March 30 with a 3-0 win over visiting West Bend East.

Mel Oostdyk, Maggie Paese and Rachel Francis scored one unassisted goal each. The Panthers broke the match open with two goals in the last 10 minutes.

Shanna Niedfeldt and Emily Vorpagel shared the goalkeeper duties for PHS. Thursday, the host Panthers tied West Bend West, 0-0. PHS had 12 shots on goal and a 23-0 advantage in corner kicks but was unable to capitalize.
