4-H- Willing Workers – February and March

February meeting of the Willing Workers was called to order Feb. 8 at 6:40 p.m. by President Naomi Wells. Roll call was, “What is your favorite animal?”

Easter Egg Hunt for Children with Special Needs would be at Parkview School on April 3. Club members were asked to be there at 9:30 a.m. and it starts at 10 a.m. Members were encouraged to bring eggs with candy inside or help at the event.

Brat Fry: We are not sure what we are going to do. We might be able to do one at Road America for one of the races. Mr. Schroeder will check into this idea.

Erik Ohman gave the quarters to the animal shelter. Cloverbuds showed us the candy tractors they made with Cloverbud leader Mrs. Neu.

The club wished Jared Beck a Happy Birthday, Feb. 17!

We finished the evening with demonstrations: Jared spoke about his dad's Wyoming Hunting Trip. Logan showed us a plaque that he won as a Peewee Show person at a recent beef show. Carter explained how to have a snow day … you must go to bed wearing your PJs inside out. Kim talked about all of the awards and accomplishments she earned showing beef. Kaitlyn helped members make “snowman soup” … everyone got to take some home! Evan explained how his dad does tractor pulling and how he rides along to all the shows. Bryce spoke about his Make-A-Wish trip he and his family took to see Spiderman at Walt Disney World. Cora showed us how to make a scarf on her “nifty-knitter.” Luke L. showed members how to install wiring and place an outlet in the wall, and Sophia L. spoke about her “Build-A-Bear” and how he was made.

Willing Workers 4-H general meeting was held March 8. It was called to order at 6:32 p.m. Mr. Sippel came to talk to us about how 4-H works and how it is run. The roll call question was “What is your favorite thing to do in the spring time?”

On April 3, at Parkview School our Easter Egg Hunt would be held starting at 9:15 a.m.

Payton Wimmler gave the quarters to the Leclercs because they went to Haiti to help the people in poverty and to film the work in the orphanages down in Haiti.

The Music and Drama Club had very much fun and did very well. Each of the members who participated received two ribbons, and everyone says “congrats!” to them.

We voted, and it was unanimous, that we are holding our Brat Fry at Road America. We say “Happy Birthday” to Carter, Kaitlyn, Sophie, Katherine, Ean and Meredith.

We are excited to see what Laura will do with the quarters for next month.

We had demonstrations on remote-control cars, magic kits, violin parts (and she played a song for us), how to text, little pet hamsters that are like stuffed animals but do real hamster things such as chirping, and about the basic moves of chess.

We were dismissed at 7:30 p.m.
