Stream passage survey workshop set
Registration is open for the May 15 Stream Passage Survey Workshop to be held by the Sheboygan River Basin Partnership at Maywood Environmental Park, 3615 Mueller Rd., Sheboygan.
Citizens interested in fishing, conservation, and protecting and improving rivers and streams are invited to attend this training workshop. Volunteers will learn how to survey road stream crossings to gather valuable information needed to assess whether fish and other aquatic organisms can pass by these structures.
The inability to travel past crossings (culverts, bridges, etc.) can cut off miles of stream and habitat from fish and other organisms. SRBP will be using the information volunteers gather to look at how areas can be improved and to prioritize restoration projects.
For more information on the project or to download a registration form visit www.sheboyganrivers.org/events.html or call Stacy at 458-61614.
