CECELIA MARIE (BREHMER) BRUMER

Cecelia Marie Brumer (nee Brehmer) entered eternal life with her Lord and Savior on Tuesday, April 13, 2010.

She was born on Sept. 13, 1916, in Abrams, Wis., the daughter of Gustave and Cecelia Brehmer. Cecelia was united in marriage to John J. Brumer on Nov. 29, 1941, in Milwaukee, Wis.

Parents of eight children, John and Cecelia were active in Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts.

They later retired to Plymouth, Wis., where they joined the Plymouth Bird and Nature Club, WSO, Audubon and Gromme Bird Club. John and Cecelia were avid bird watchers, bird banders, and were licensed to care for injured birds of prey.

Cecelia loved spending time with her children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren. She played harmonica for 81 years and throughout the years shared her music, good nature and love with all she encountered.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John; and granddaughter, Clarice; one sister and six brothers.

Surviving are John (Kathy) Brumer Jr. of Iowa, Beverly (Bob) Schellhaass of Plymouth, Michael (Connie) Brumer of Waupaca, Beatrice (Frank) Skvarca of Racine, Barbara Bourn of Waukesha, Sharon Brumer of Greenfield, Laura Brumer (Dennis Kling) of Greenfield, and Charles (Sabine) Brumer of Plymouth; 20 grandchildren and 39 great-grandchildren. She is further survived by nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Family and friends are invited to celebrate Cecelia’s life at Forest Park Presbyterian Church, 2300 South Sunny Slope Road, New Berlin, Wis., from 1-3 p.m., Saturday, April 24, with services and a luncheon following.

There will be a memorial mass at 7 a.m. on Monday, Sept. 13, at Cecelia’s home parish, St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church, Milwaukee.
