Oostburg blanks Elkhart

OOSTBURG – Amanda Prinsen and Emily TeBeest had one goal and assist each to lead Oostburg to a 5-0 girls soccer win over visiting Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah Thursday afternoon.

The Resorters fell to 0-2 in the Central Lakeshore Conference (0-2 overall).

Also scoring one goal for the Lady Dutch were Jenna Rohde, Emily Hengst and Kendra Thein – all unassisted. Oostburg, the defending CLC champion, mounted a 3-0 halftime lead.

Oostburg dominated in shots on goal, 15-5. Resorter goalkeeper Anna Vollrath made 10 saves and Oostburg goalie Lindsay LeClair had three.

“We were impressed with the work ethic of our girls. They didn't give up the entire game,” said Resorter head coach Richard Sadiq.

Sadiq and assistant coach Megan Stock said defenders Becca Hembel, Rachel Lallensack and Lizzy Siegel excelled.
