Eighth-grade squad competes in state hoops tourney
The Sheboygan Falls eighth-grade girls basketball team participated in the Wisconsin State Invitational Championship Tournament in Stevens Point April 10-11.
This tournament, which was organized by The Great Northwest Basketball League, brought together 83 of the top community-based eighth-grade girls basketball teams from throughout the state.
The Sheboygan Falls eighth-grade girls team placed 31st in the Medium Community Division.
In pool play, the Falcons fell to Chilton (35-25), Edgerton (34-18) and New Berlin Eisenhower (42-24).
In 31st through 34th-place game action, Falls defeated Xavier (39-26) and Stoughton (36-32), while falling to Plymouth (36-25).
Neillsville defeated Notre Dame 34-25 to win the Medium Division championship. The Sheboygan Falls team was coached by Brian Beeck, with assistance from Chad Oppeneer and John Kautzer.
