Marsh tower dedication set for Sunday, May 16
The 80-foot-tall observation tower at Broughton Sheboygan Marsh has been open to the public since Christmas Day, 2009. The formal dedication of the tallest wooden observation tower in the state of Wisconsin, itself a work of art to behold, will be held Sunday, May 16. The dedication ceremony will begin at 2 p.m.
“Please bring families and friends to celebrate the official dedication and participate in the festivities,” said Jim Hulbert, director, Sheboygan County Planning and Resources Department.
“Besides listening to music, joining in on fun family-oriented activities, and finding great food to eat, people in attendance can climb the 144 steps of the tower to gain a bird’s-eye view of the 14,000-acre marsh, and see how the high-resolution video camera on top of the tower can be remotely controlled from the comfort of the Marsh Lodge to capture wildlife and beautiful scenes of the marsh on a large video screen.”
