MARION B. BUHR
Marion B. Buhr (nee Whitehouse), age 89, of 308 N. Harmon St., Waldo, Wis., died Saturday, May 1, 2010.
Marion was born Nov. 22, 1920, to the late Ben and Mary Kalisek Whitehouse in Neopit, Wis. She moved with her parents to Milwaukee as a child, where she attended school, graduating from Rufus King High School in 1938.
She married Heinz August Buhr in 1943 and they had five children. The marriage ended in divorce in 1964.
Marion worked at Wisconsin Telephone Co. in various positions for almost 21 years, retiring in 1985. She was a lifetime member of the Telephone Pioneers, and honorary lifetime member of the Communications Workers of America, the Ladies Moose, and a lifetime member of the Shawano Historical Society.
She was a devoted Catholic and member of Our Ladies of the Lakes Parish and a member of the Christian Mothers Society in the church in Random Lake.
She enjoyed travel, visiting numerous destinations around the world. Her hobbies included sewing, reading, bingo, camping, fishing, and card playing. She was a wonderful mother and was devoted to, and adored, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and great-great-grandchildren. She will forever be the “M&M Grandma.”
She is survived by daughters, Maryanne Holmes of West Bend and Lori Jo (Robert) Murray of Waldo and sons, Henry (Terry) Buhr of Phillipsburg, Mont., and John Buhr of Milwaukee, and daughter-in-law Tammy Buhr; grandchildren: Kristen (Roy) DeJardin, Jennie (Sam) Bunk, Karin (Nick) Beal, Matthew (Megan) Holmes, Elizabeth Holmes, Jessie Buhr, David Williams, Adam Buhr, Jenny (Dave) Davies, Courtney (Daniel) Murray, Kyle Murray, Amanda (Andrew Edward) Seil, Anne Gerber, Kathryn (Daniel) Frakes, Stacey (Andy) Dammann, Alexandria Buhr, John Buhr II; 17 great-grandchildren; six great-great-grandchildren; and her beloved friends Shirley Myles and Pat Mielke.
Marion was preceded in death by her parents, four brothers and one sister; her second son, Donald Buhr; daughter-in-law, Kelly Buhr; and a great-granddaughter, Gemania Marion Buhr.
Funeral Mass will be held at 4 p.m. Friday, May 7, at Our Lady of the Lakes Catholic Church (St. Mary’s) in Random Lake. Father Guy Gurath, pastor of the church, will officiate. Burial will be in the Holy Trinity Catholic Cemetery in Casco, Wis.

Friday from 2 p.m. until the time of services. The rosary will be said in Marion’s memory during the visitation.
