Sheriff’s Report – May 5

The Sheriff’s Department was called to a one-car accident on County P and Branch Road at approximately 4 a.m. Wednesday, May 5. There they found a 2001 Volkswagen on its roof. The occupant, Katie Schultz, 18, of 235 Slade St., Glenbeulah, had been ejected from the car.

The car had been southbound on County P and went through the first set of curves and was on a straight stretch of road when the car drifted off the road, went into the ditch, hit a driveway embankment, mailbox, road sign and several trees before landing on its roof.

Flight for Life was called and Schultz was transferred to St. Nicholas Hospital and later to Froedtert Hospital. As of 9:30 a.m. Wednesday, she was listed in critical condition. It is believed that alcohol may have been a factor in this accident.
