Aurora Health Foundation awards scholarships

The Aurora Health Foundation announced the recipients of the 2010 Sheboygan County scholarships at a ceremony held at Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center.

In the last nine years, the Aurora Health Foundation has awarded over $327,000. This year’s total amount of scholarship awards was $26,500 for three counties. Some of the scholarships are renewable for up to four years. This year’s list of winners includes recipients from Sheboygan, Fond du Lac, and Winnebago Counties.

The 12 Sheboygan County winners are: Amy Albinger, North High School, $1,000 Aurora Sheboygan Clinic Scholarship. Mallory Andrews, North High School, $1,000 Eleanor A. Jung Scholarship. Kelleen Boehlke, South High School, $500 Woman’s Club of Sheboygan Scholarship. Anne Bolgert, Lutheran High School, $2,000 Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center Scholarship. Jon Criter, Plymouth High School, $1,000 Helping Hands Scholarship.

Abby Fehrman, North High School, $1,000 Aurora Sheboygan Clinic Scholarship.

Christiana Jacobson, Lutheran High School, $4,000 Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center Volunteer Services Scholarship.

Sara Lemmenes, Sheboygan County Christian High School, $500 Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Staff Family Scholarship.

Mallory Mentink, Cedar Grove/ Belgium High School, $500 Aurora Surgery Center (Valley View Medical Center) Medical Staff Plus Scholarship.

Kelsie Niffenegger, Auburn University, $6,000 Waldhart Scholarship.

Stephanie Stanczyk, Plymouth High School, $1,000 Aurora Surgery Center (Valley View Medical Center) Medical Staff Scholarship.

Alice Zhao, North High School, $4,000 Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Staff Scholarship.

The Aurora Health Foundation annually awards merit-based scholarships to students as part of its vision. The winners were chosen based on academic record, personal essay, leadership qualities, community involvement, and extracurricular activities. Most scholarships go to those pursuing a health care related field.
