Submissions invited to state-of-the-art Hope Art exhibition
St. Nicholas Hospital, Matthews Oncology Associates, and Sheboygan Cancer and Blood Specialists will be celebrating National Cancer Survivors Day in June with an art exhibition showcasing artwork from local cancer survivors and caregivers.
St. Nicholas Hospital, as part of the Regional Cancer Collaborative, is inviting cancer survivors, caregivers, and any individuals who have been touched by cancer to submit their personal works of art for consideration. Selected pieces of artwork will be shown at the John Michael Kohler Arts Center as part of the National Cancer Survivors Day event from 1-4 p.m., Sunday, June 13, 2010.
State of the Art Hope is an extraordinary collection of art and rich personal stories that documents the tremendous impact that cancer has on the lives of thousands of people. The art exhibition was an idea that originated from the Regional Cancer Collaborative based at St. Vincent Hospital in Green Bay. Cancer patients were invited to submit their works of art to the unique exhibition, sharing their personal expressions of their experience with cancer.
Deadline to submit artwork is Wednesday, May 26, 2010. For more information on how to submit artwork for the State of the Art Hope art exhibition, visit www.stnicholashospital.org/SurvivorsDay or call 459-4739.
Cancer survivors, their families, and friends are invited to help celebrate National Cancer Survivors Day by attending the art exhibition. Dessert and beverage will be served. The event is free and pre-registration is recommended. To register, call 457-2223 or visit www.stnicholashospital.org/Survivors Day by Friday, June 4, 2010.
