Falls students earn honors at culinary olympics

Several Sheboygan Falls High School students faired well at the eighth annual High School Culinary Arts Olympics event held Thursday, April 14, at the Moraine Park Technical College Fond du Lac campus.

Fifty-five students from seven area schools including: Dodgeland, Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah, Princeton, Ripon, Sheboygan Falls, Sheboygan North and Sheboygan South competed.

Students took part in three competition areas including, create a plate, layered cake decorating and sandwich relay construction.

The first-place finisher in each category received a $200 scholarship to Moraine Park Technical College.

Ryan Sweeney of Sheboygan Falls earned a first-place showing in the create a plate competition.

Tyler Scheurs, Kevin Wirth and Joey Sheehan of Sheboygan Falls took first place in the sandwich construction relay event, while Alyse Hucke and Lynnzie Neese claimed honorable mention accolades in the layered cake-decorating contest.
