Thank you, fans
To the Editor:
On behalf of the Plymouth High School Jolly Pranksters Comedy Team, I would like to thank the many fans who traveled down to Milwaukee these past two weeks to laugh and cheer for the players during the annual Milwaukee ComedySportz High School League Tournament.
Even though the team did not advance to the finals this year, they played an excellent secondround game, and Plymouth should be proud of their efforts. We all start our days without any written scripts, and learning the skills of comic improvisation not only adds to our students’ impromptu speaking abilities, but the improvisational skills they learn also allow them to add just a bit more humor into all of our lives.
Along with a strong arts program at PHS, which includes music, drama and visual arts, the high school students are also very fortunate to have some of the most outstanding core teachers for math, science, English, social studies, foreign languages, business and technical education, and athletics, as well as numerous coaches and advisors who oversee a plethora of extracurricular opportunities. The Jolly Pranksters is just one more example of the kinds of opportunities that PHS offers to its many wonderful students and the community, without tapping into any budgeted funds. And, acting as the volunteer advisor for this group has been, and continues to be, both an honor and a privilege.
Again, I would like to thank the community of Plymouth, and thank The Plymouth Review,
for your continued support of the PHS Jolly Pranksters and all of our efforts to engage the PHS students.
I would also like to invite you all to come and see the Jolly Pranksters’ last show of the season Tuesday, June 1, when the team will play a round of comic improv games following a performance by the PHS Amph-Rats Acting Company (advanced acting students) in the PHS Amphitheatre at 7:30 p.m.
