LANA “LUFKA” KIND
Lana “Lufka” Kind, 60, of 4635 Hunters Glen Drive, Sheboygan, received the ultimate gift, meeting
God,
on May 15, 2010. Lana died peacefully after a 21-month and two-day battle with pancreatic cancer, surrounded by her loving husband and best friend Rick, daughter Andrea and son Tyler.
Lana was born Aug. 1, 1949, to the late August and Margaret Juntz. Lana graduated from South High School in 1967.
After graduation, Lana joined Kohler Co. as a stenographer and later promoted to supervisor of the stenographic department. While at Kohler, Lana met her husband Ric and they married April 15, 1972.
Lana left Kohler to raise her children. Lana returned to work when her children were older and retired from American Red Cross, where she worked as the office manager and bookkeeper for 21 years.
Lana enjoyed walking the streets of Sheboygan and vacationing in California with her twin sister, Linda. Lufka also enjoyed many enchanted walks through the trails of Maywood with Ric and numerous vacations to the Caribbean. Lana truly loved the simple things in life, such as picking up acorns and leaves in the woods, or collecting shells on the beach. Lana loved bargain hunting, bringing home her “finds,” and asking “guess how much?”
Lana was preceded in death by her parents, and her favorite aunt and uncle, Joe and Clara Bezoenik.
Lana is survived by her husband, Ric; her daughter, Andrea (Kind) and Matt Kramer, Cleveland, Wis.; son, Tyler Kind of Denver, Colo.; sister, Linda (Juntz) and Dick Brunette; and her grandchildren, Carson and Karissa Kramer. Lana is further survived by her favorite niece, Leah (Kaczmarski) and Paul Stickels, nephew, Chad Kaczmarski, all of California; and many close friends.
Lana fought a noble battle with pancreatic cancer, never questioning “why me” or losing her faith. Lana fought with everything she had, and in the end Lana won the battle, and is now pain and cancer free.
While on this earth, Lana touched many people with her caring, loving, witty, warm and honest attitude.
Lana made this world a better place each and every day. Lufka, our ray of sunshine will always be deeply loved, sadly missed but never forgotten.
A celebration of Lana’s life will be held at Zimmer’s Westview Funeral and Cremation Care Center at W2132 Garton Road from 4:30-7:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 19, with a small service following.
In lieu of flowers, the family will be making a charitable donation to the Pancreatic Cancer Network.

Mom, we love you so much and are so proud to call you our mother. Lufka, you made my life complete and I will always love
you, and we will go on living one day at a time.
Lufka’s courageous battle was possible because of the care she received while at Froedtert
Hospital of Milwaukee, Matthew’s Oncology and Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. A
special thanks to Dr. Ganju, Dr. Matthews, the wonderful caregivers at Matthew’s Oncology,
especially Anne and Kathy, and finally the caregivers of Sharon S. Richardson home hospice.
