Sheriff’s Report – May 17

On May 16, 3:14 p.m., while riding her horse in the vicinity of W33066 County V in the town of Lima, Carolyn Gerth, 64, was bucked from her horse. She struck her head on the roadway. She was not wearing a helmet at the time.

Oostburg Ambulance, Orange Cross EMTs and Flight for Life were called to the scene. Gerth was flown to Froedtert Hospital.

On May 14, Dianne M. Hoffmann, 65, of W2688 County G in the town of Holland, reported a home burglary.

The occupants of the residence left the home sometime after 7 a.m. and returned before noon. When the residents returned, they noticed the door was slightly ajar. It wasn’t until several hours later that the family noticed that the 50-inch Panasonic flat-screen TV was missing from the living room. Upon further checking, they found several pieces of jewelry were also missing. The missing jewelry is valued at several thousand dollars.

The burglary is still under investigation. No one is presently in custody.
