Board awards copy-machine lease bid

PLYMOUTH – Seven companies submitted bids to the Plymouth School District for the lease of copy machines.
School Board members voted unanimously at their May 18 monthly meeting to accept the bid from RICHO Business Solutions. This company’s bid was the second lowest, as per Jon Miller, the district’s manager of business services.
“We checked the references of the companies submitting bids, and based upon feedback, regarding service and quality of equipment, etc., we are recommending RICOH, which submitted the second lowest bid [$17,427.16],” Miller said. “The three lowest bids were within the $16,000 to $17,000 range.”
The other two companies within that range were OCE, with a bid of $16,346.64 and Badger Office City, bidding $17,733.60.
Based upon the discussion held at the May 10 Committee of the Whole meeting, school district administrators recommended the acceptance of RICHO’s bid. This bid is in line with the state of Wisconsin contracted prices The company has local repair service providers and is commonly a supplier to neighboring universities, governments and school districts.
The school district will save more than $3,000 per year by leasing these machines and returning the outdated machines to the previous leaseholder – Ross Business Equipment. The district’s current annual costs with that firm were $20,622.
The other four companies among the bidders and the bids placed were: „ Ross Business Equipment – $18,705.96 „ Konica – $19,937.52 „ Xerox – $19, 121.40 „ Modern Business Machines – $24,805.76.
