Flames batter West Bend
WEST BEND – The Plymouth Flames pounded out 14 hits to key a 17-8 rout over the West Bend Benders in Land O’ Lakes Baseball League play here Sunday afternoon.
Justin Gephart and Dave Stecker had three-RBIs to lead the Flames. Gephart keyed Plymouth’s bats with three.
Adding two hits each for Plymouth were Ryan Wachter, Evan Walsh and Stecker with two apiece. Dusty Medved, Chris Bennin and Eric Heidenreiter contributed two RBIs each.
Evan Walsh started and was the winning hurler in the Northern Division contest. Walsh allowed two runs (both unearned) on four hits with three walks, two hit batters and 10 strikeouts in five frames.
Wachter pitched the final four innings and earned a save. The Benders were led at the plate by Paul Klote and Joel Seagraves with three hits each. Kolte belted a solo home run in the ninth. Seagraves had a team-best two RBIs.
