Galloway leads Elkhart in CLC tourney, named all-league

GRAFTON – Senior Myles Galloway of Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah tied for seventh in Thursday’s Central Lakeshore Conference Boys Golf Tournament to earn All-CLC second-team honors.

Galloway led the Resorters to fourth place in the 18-hole tourney with an 84. Nic Vrubley of Cedar Grove-Belgium was the medalist with a 76 on the par-72 Fire Ridge Golf Course.

Elkhart shot 360. The Howards Grove Tigers, who took ninth at 413, were paced by Alex Mikbrath’s 97.

Sheboygan Lutheran won its fourth straight CLC tourney and overall championships. The overall points race includes league duals and the tournament. The Crusaders shot 326 – 30 strokes ahead of runner-up Kohler (356).

Lutheran totaled 27 points and posted a league-best 9-0 dual record. Kohler placed second overall with 24. Elkhart tied for third with Random Lake at 18.5 apiece.

Howards finished ninth overall with four points.

Elkhart’s other low players in the tourney were Tom Pritzl with an 87, Kyle Rentmeester, 93 and Neven Grgic, 96.

The Tigers’ other low scorers were Garrett Jahnke with 102, followed by Tom Hansen and Zach Stueven at 107 each.

Pritzl, a sophomore, was named All-CLC honorable mention.
