Falcons’ pitching stymies Elkhart
SHEBOYGAN FALLS – Bobby Musil and Russell Preder combined for a two-hitter and 12 strikeouts in pitching the Sheboygan Falls Falcons past Elkhart Lake-Glenbeulah, 6-1, here May 24.
The nonconference game was the Resorters’ baseball season opener.
Musil was the starting and winning hurler – striking out eight and walking three in five innings. Preder pitched the final two frames and earned a save as he fanned four batters.
Dane Blake started on the mound for the Resorters and took the loss. Blake went four innings and had two walks and three strikeouts. Travis Kosnicki pitched two innings and walked three and struck out four.
Elkhart tallied its run in the top of the fifth when Ben Rentmeester came home on a wild pitch after getting aboard on a single earlier. Blake collected Elkhart’s other hit.
The Falcons took a 2-0 lead in the third on a two-run single by Cole Heili. Jacob Meyer and Adam Lorenz, who both walked, scored on the hit.
