Health and Human Services budget hearings set
The Sheboygan County Health and Human Services Department, in preparation for the development of the 2011 budget, will be conducting public hearings to obtain community input regarding current and future programs, services and priorities.
The department provides programs and services to meet the needs of the elderly; individuals with a mental illness, developmental disability, chemical dependency or physical disability; low-income individuals and families; as well as public health services and services to meet the needs of abused and neglected children and their families; and juvenile delinquency programs.
The hearings will be held Thursday, June 24, at 1:15 p.m. at the Aging and Disability Resource Center, 650 Forest Ave., Sheboygan Falls, and at 5 p.m. in room 302 of the Sheboygan County Administration Building, 508 New York Ave., Sheboygan. Both facilities are wheelchair accessible.
The public is welcomed and encouraged to attend. The Health and Human Services Committee meets the first and third Tuesday of each month and agendas are published. People unable to attend the public hearings are encouraged to attend any of the Tuesday committee meetings.
Anyone unable to attend the public hearings may also submit comments in writing to the Health and Human Services Committee, 1011 N. Eighth St., Sheboygan 53081, attention Kim Pagel, by Aug. 6.
