Program to explain health care reform changes
With the passage of health care reform at the federal level, it is important to understand the basics of what is already here in Wisconsin in order to properly address the changes that will occur over the next few years.
George Hagenauer, outreach coordinator for the University of Wisconsin — Covering Kids Project, will be presenting “Wisconsin’s BadgerCare and Federal Health Care Reform” Wednesday, June 16 at 1:30 p.m. at the Sheboygan and Plymouth Area United Way, 2020 Erie Ave., Sheboygan, in the lower level Pagnucco Room.
Hagenauer’s presentation will outline the growth and development of BadgerCare within Wisconsin and also the challenges Wisconsin will face in the next few years as it implements health care reform. Wisconsin will receive millions of federal dollars for health care reform that will lead to adaptations within the existing system of health care programs and at the same time create a new insurance exchange system for providing private insurance coverage.
He will also focus on the differences between Wisconsin’s current BadgerCare system and the proposals under Federal Health Care Reform.
This presentation is hosted by the Sheboygan & Plymouth Area United Way and the Sheboygan Area Community Clinic. For reservations, call DeeAnn at (920) 458-3425 by Friday, June 11.
