Sheboygan Transit wins awards

Sheboygan Transit System, consisting of the Sheboygan Transit city buses and the Regional Transit Connection, along with its employees, was recently honored with two safety awards from its insurance carrier, Transit Mutual Insurance Corp. of Wisconsin.

Sheboygan Transit won the 2009 Driving Incentive Program award in the 650,000 to 999,999-mile class. Sheboygan Transit previously received this award in 1986, 1991, 2007 and 2009.

Sheboygan Transit also was honored as the 2009 Most Improved System. This award was issued in recognition of outstanding improvement in traffic and passenger safety among TMI members operating 650,000 to 999,999 miles. Sheboygan Transit previously received this award in 1992, 1995 and 2009.
