Sheboygan extends parade application deadline to June 11

Johnsonville Sausage Inc. will be once again sponsoring the July Fourth fireworks in Sheboygan to be held Saturday, July 3.

Mayor Bob Ryan and CEO Tony Jovanovich of Community Bank & Trust will again partner on the annual “Best of Parade” contest for the Fourth of July parade to be held at 9 a.m. July 3 in downtown Sheboygan.

The parade judges will judge parade entries using the following criteria:

Craftsmanship: Based upon how well your entry is made. Hand-made entries will score higher.

Creativity and originality: Based upon how unique your entry is, and how well it conveys your message to the crowd.

Overall appeal.

Winners will receive cash prizes. First prize is $1,500; second prize is $1,000; third prize is $500. Winners will be announced at the Art Armada at Rotary Park around noon.

The city of Sheboygan has extended its parade application deadline to Friday, June 11, at 4 p.m. For a parade application, visit the city’s home page at www.ci.she boygan.wi.us or contact the city of Sheboygan at (920) 459-3377. No late entries will be accepted.
