City manager
To the Editor:
Who should answer the city's vital questions?
Our City Council should wait for the advice and input of our new, full-time, experienced city manager they are about to employ.
There are two very important items on the table right now. The Utilities Expansion Building project and the proposed rail-line extension.
Former Plymouth Alderman Peter Ullrich had an excellent article in The Review that should not be ignored regarding costs and the advisability of the city continued ownership of the electric utility. This should be explored in depth before committing any more money to this proposed project.
I think it would be prudent to table the proposed utility project until all facts are gathered.
An excellent job for the new city manager would be to sort through and advise the council accordingly.
Time is not of the essence for either project. Nothing has to be rushed to final conclusion.
