Library to kick off summer reading program

Ride the reading wave to the Plymouth Public Library for the 2010 Summer Library Program: Make a Splash @ Your Library.

Registration began Monday. Stop at the Children’s Room Desk to sign up and splash into reading.

Read 20 minutes a day to complete a weekly reader card. You’ll receive a sticker each week and a chance to win our weekly prize drawing. You’ll also receive additional prizes throughout the seven weeks of the program.

Six special events will be held at the library on Wednesdays, beginning June 23. Check the calendar in the book bag you receive when you sign up for Make a Splash @ Your Library, and enjoy music, storytellers, a magician, and comedy as part of our splish, splash reading bash.

If you’re starting sixth grade in the fall, set sail for the library to play the Chance It game. Roll the die and take a dip into reading.

Fifth- through eighth-graders can also take part in the “Story in a Bottle” writing contest. Two writers will receive prizes for their short stories.
