County Sheriff’s Department reports fatality traffic accident
On Sunday, June 13, at approximately 1:09 p.m., the Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department received multiple emergency calls of a two-vehicle injury accident on County PP at County E in the town of Plymouth. The Sheboygan County Sheriff’s Department responded along with the Plymouth Police Department, Plymouth Ambulance Service and Plymouth Fire Department-Jaws for Life.
It is surmised that a 2005 Ford Freestar Van was traveling east on County PP, approaching the intersection of County E, where the driver turned left to go north on County E. A 1997 Dodge Ram B2500 pickup was being operated westbound on County PP approaching County E. When the Ford turned left, the Dodge collided into the right side of the Ford.
Both drivers, Lisa M. DeSmidt, age 45, and Genevieve L. Flores, 33, and a 5-month-old baby, Mary E. Flores, were transported by Plymouth Ambulance Service to Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center. The two drivers were released and the baby sustained no injury. Taylor M. Orleans, age 12, who was a passenger in the van, was transported by a Flight For Life Helicopter to Milwaukee Children’s Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Jesse J. Flores, age 7, succumbed to his injuries at the scene. The Sheboygan County Coroner’s Office assisted with the investigation.
The Sheriff’s Department is looking for any witnesses to the crash. If anyone has information, please call 920-459-3112 and ask to speak with Sgt. Liermann.
At this time, no charges have been filed and the accident remains under investigation by the Sheboygan County Crash Investigation Team.
