CAMPELLSPORT – Sheboygan Falls sophomore pitcher Cole Heili recorded a complete-game twohitter to lead the Falcons past the Campbellsport Cougars 8-1 in an Eastern Wisconsin Conference baseball contest Monday, June 7.
Heili homered at the plate, while striking out six batters and walking just two to pick up his first pitching win of the season.
The victory improved the Falcons’ record to 3-1 in the Eastern Wisconsin Conference (4-6 overall).
Falls used a six-run fifth inning to pull away from Campbellsport. The Falcons scored six runs on five hits and two Cougars errors in the inning. Falls batters collected 16 hits in the game.
Heili batted 3-for-5, which included his second home run of the season. Ryan Halverson was 3-for-5, with two runs scored. Adam Lorenz went 3-for-5, with two runs batted in. Russell Preder and Zach Van Engen both drove in two runs each.
“We played our best game of the season so far,” said Falcons coach Todd Struve. “I felt Heili pitched a great game.”
Campbellsport’s only run was scored on a wild pitch.
The Kiel game was rained out and will be made up as a doubleheader July 8, at Falls.
A game against Germantown was suspended in the sixth inning, and will be completed on date yet to be determined.
Germantown led 14-13 in the top of the sixth Friday, June 11, when the game was called due to darkness. The Falcons have the bases loaded with one out, when and if the game can be rescheduled.
