County O project wrapping up, others continue
Road construction on County O is nearly complete, according to the weekly update on road construction in Sheboygan County from the Wisconsin Department of Transportation regional office in Green Bay
Crews will be grading and placing base aggregate to finish on County O from State 32 to 68th Street this week. Curb and gutter and landscaping will begin west of Rangeline Road to State 32.
Until the work is completed, County O is closed to through traffic. A detour is posted using County TT, State 23, and County Y.
On State 23, the contractor will continue diamond grinding in the eastbound lanes this week, along with shouldering and landscaping work along the eastbound and westbound lanes of State 23, concrete pavement repair along the eastbound lanes of State 23 and continue shouldering at the State 57 ramps at State 23 and the State 32 ramps at State 23.
The 10-mile, $4.9 million project on State 23 from County P to State 32, scheduled for completion in July, involves concrete dowel bar retrofit warranted, concrete diamond grinding, concrete pavement repair, concrete pavement replacement, concrete approach slabs, culvert maintenance, sign removal and installation asphaltic shoulders, beam guard upgrades, traffic control, pavement marking sawing existing pavement and incidentals necessary to complete work.
Traffic is reduced to one lane in each direction along State 23 from County P to State 32. The State 57 ramps will be closed from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. but will reopen by Wednesday morning, June 30. The State 32 ramps will be closed from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. but will reopen by Wednesday morning, June 30.
Asphalt paving will continue this week in the southbound lanes of Interstate 43 from State 42 to Wilson Lima Road. Work on County V under I-43 in the area of the interchange will begin this week.
This $16 million project from the south county line to State 42 involves bridge deck repair and overlay, asphaltic surface milling, hot mix asphalt pavement, beam guard, concrete base patching, ramp closure gates, law enforcement pads, and all incidentals to complete the project. It is scheduled for completion July 16.
