Sheboygan River dredging to begin in July

SHEBOYGAN — It’s been delayed, but the dredging of the Sheboygan River in the city of Sheboygan will still get underway this summer.

That was the message county Planning and Resources Director Jim Hulbert delivered to the County Board at their meeting last week.

“We’re waiting for final approval of the (dredging) plan,” Hulbert reported.

“Of course, six months ago we were still waiting for approval, but hopefully we’ll be getting that in the next week or so,” Hulbert admitted.

“They’re planning to be in the river in July or August,” he added.
