MARIAN ALBERS KLEINHANS
Marian Albers Kleinhans went to be with her Lord and Savior on Monday, June 21, 2010.
Born June 25, 1917, in the town of Lima, she was a daughter of the late Theodore and Henrietta (Eernissee) Wilterdink.
On Aug. 21, 1940, she married William G. “Bill” Albers. She devoted her life to her family, her church and her community. Marian was the bookkeeper for Bill’s contracting business and a home maker.
At Salem United Church of Christ, she was a Sunday school teacher for 33 years, a member of Willing Workers, sang in the chancel choir and women’s chorus.
She was a Red Cross Blood Bank volunteer for 45 years, hospital auxiliary member, worked as an election official at the voting polls for many years and was a representative for Plymouth Welcome Wagon.
Marian was instrumental in changing River Street to Riverbend Drive, the street she lived on for over 50 years in Plymouth. Bill preceded her in death Sept. 2, 1992.
On June 20, 1997, she married Wallace Kleinhans. The couple made their home in Plymouth, until his death Aug. 27, 2009.
Marian was preceded in death by her husband, William G. Albers; three sisters and one brother; and her second husband, Wallace.
She is survived by one brother, Gordon (Bea) Wilterdink, Oostburg, Wis.; son, James (Linda) Albers, Middleton, Wis.; daughter, Judith (Nick) Nichols, Athens, Texas; four grandsons, David (Juliana) Albers, Manhattan, N.Y.; John (Sarah) Albers, Davis, Calif.; Scott (Cory) Nichols, Justin, Texas, and Kevin Nichols, Irving, Texas; two great-grandchildren; one step grandson, Timothy (Catherine) Kamin, Waukesha, Wis.; one step granddaughter, Jennifer (Mike) Breezee, Madison, Wis.; three stepsons, Mark (Linda) Kleinhans, Plymouth, Wis.; Wade (Gail) Kleinhans, Sheboygan Falls, Wis., and Reed (Monica) Kleinhans, Sheboygan Falls, Wis.; one stepdaughter, Faye (Jim) Hughes, Plymouth, Wis.; and one step daughter-in-law, Linda Kleinhans, Slinger, Wis. She also has many nieces and nephews and step grandchildren and step great-grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 11:30 a.m. Saturday, June 26, at Salem United Church of Christ in Plymouth with the Deacon Dale Miller officiating. Burial will follow in Plymouth Woodlawn Cemetery.
Friends may call on Saturday at the church
