Kids’ Talk: Great things happening at the Boys and Girls Club
by Savanna Ridge Sheboygan Falls B&G Club
My name is Savanna and I am 8 years old. I am a member at the Boys & Girls Club in Sheboygan Falls.
So far this summer, I have come to the club every day. On Wednesday June 30, 45 members and four staff members took a field trip to the Milwaukee Zoo.
It was a beautiful day to go to the zoo. It was hot, but not too hot. We took a bus and the ride was long, but Mike the driver was really nice.
When we got to the zoo, we saw the penguins right away. Some of them were hiding. Next we went to my favorite spot in the zoo – apes and primates. I liked the monkey with the red and pink face that was in the “Lion King.” There was a baby orangutan that was really cute.
We also saw hippos, elephants, and giraffes. The hippo was swimming under the water and the waterfall kept pouring on his head. One bear was sleeping in his hammock, and the other was on a rock. The bats were creepy.
After we looked at animals, we had lunch and got to shop for souvenirs and ice cream. I got a new, soft green turtle. It was a really fun day.
Editor’s note: Each month a club member writes about their experience at the Sheboygan Falls Boys & Girls Club.
