Plymouth German Night shares gemütlichkeit July 22
The Plymouth Municipal Band will celebrate its 32nd annual German Night, “An Evening of Gemütlichkeit,” on Thursday, July 22, at Plymouth City Park on Grove Street.
Festivities begin at 6 p.m. with a performance by Plymouth High School’s Junge Kameraden directed by Jason Sebranek. The Junge Kameraden is the only German-style high school instrumental group in America. It’s membership ranges from 35 to 40 musicians.
The Plymouth Municipal Band will take the stage at 7 p.m. to provide German musical entertainment. The band will play a variety of traditional music ranging from polkas and waltzes to classical. Branden Mueller leads this group of 65 musicians.
Ernie Broeniman, originator of German Night and the Junge Kameraden, will lead his renown Dorf Kapelle starting at 8 p.m. The Dorf Kapelle (Village Band) features music from Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and Czechoslovakia. The group will also celebrate its 22nd year of musical entertainment that began in Plymouth.
The Plymouth High School Music Boosters will start serving Spanferkel and German-style food and refreshments at 3 p.m. The Beer Garden will be provided by the Plymouth Municipal Band.
A freewill offering will be taken. Be sure to bring your lawn chairs.
