State 23 meeting

To the Editor:

In the Tuesday, July 13, issue of The Review, an article on Page 3 announced a public information meeting that will take place from 5-7 p.m. Monday, July 19, at Plymouth City Hall.

This meeting is for the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (DOT) to discuss future plans for the State 23 corridor.

It is imperative the people of Plymouth become aware regarding not only the DOT's plans, but how the city of Plymouth will deal with these future changes as well. The DOT has a number of proposed alternative road plans for the immediate area from County P to State 57. Some of these proposed plans would have a major impact on the quality of life for some of our residential areas as well as Riverview Middle School.

Please take the time to review these plans on the WisDOT website by going to the Plans & Projects page, follow the links to Sheboygan County projects and finally the WIS 23 Corridor Preservation Study, and consider attending the public information meeting Monday, July 19.

The Plymouth community should take great interest in hearing what the DOT has to say, and then voice their opinions in response to the DOT's ideas. One of the wonderful things about living in a community and a country such as this is the fact that we can speak and let our voices be heard without fear of retribution from those who will listen. Let us all consider what will be the best plan for our community as we move forward.
Clare Sedlacek, city
of Plymouth
