MARCELLA E. CHESAK
Marcella E. Chesak, age 95, formerly of 305 S. Spring St., Random Lake, Wis., passed away Saturday, July 17, 2010, at Gables on the Pond in Random Lake where she had been a resident for the last 1½ years.
She was born July 23, 1914 in the town of Farmington, Wis., a daughter of the late William and Frieda Moths Peterson. She graduated from Random Lake High School in 1930.
On Nov. 20, 1937, she married Baldwin Chesak at St. Martin United Church of Christ in Fillmore. The couple lived at Fredonia. Her husband, Baldwin, preceded her in death May 31, 1974.
She was a member of Immanuel United Church of Christ in West Bend.
Marcella was a full-time mother and grandmother who was known by her grandkids and great grandkids as “Granny.” She loved gardening, cooking and baking.
Survivors include her children: Shirley (James) Backhaus of Random Lake; George (Carol) Chesak of Pensacola, Fla., and Carol Schneider (special friend, Jerry Laux) of Harshaw, Wis.; seven grandchildren – three step grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren – five step great-grandchildren; one great-great-granddaughter; and also survived by special friend, Bob Schneider; nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.
She was also preceded in death by her great-grandson, Clifford Gauger; daughter-in-law, Betty Chesak; and brother, Leroy Peterson.
Funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. Tuesday, July 20, at Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth. Pastor Richard Vincent of Immanuel United Church of Christ in West Bend will officiate. Burial will be in St. Paul’s Evangelical Cemetery in Waubeka, Wis.
Friends may call at the Suchon Funeral Home in Plymouth from 4 p.m. Tuesday until the time of services.
