MEREL MARIE (WITZEL) KISSINGER

Merel “Windy” Marie Kissinger, age 79, of Elkhart Lake went home to be with her Lord on Tuesday, July 13, 2010, at the Aurora Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center after residing at Rocky Knoll Heath Care Center.

She was born on March 22, 1931 in Elkhart Lake, daughter of the late Melvin and Lucile (Kramer) Witzel. She married Marvin C. Kissinger in July of 1954, in Elkhart Lake. Marvin preceded her in death on May 10, 1998.

She was a member of UCC Church in Elkhart Lake and a charter member of the Winooski Bowman Sportsman Club.

She is survived by three children, Mark Kissinger of Elkhart Lake, Tammy (Fredric III) Ehrett of Brookfield, and Kerry Lane of Baraboo; seven grandchildren, Fredric IV and Kristina Ehrett, Kallie, Kasey, Kody Lane, Aaron (Kristin) Kissinger and Melissa (Elliot) Ladwig; two great-grandchildren, Ethan Ladwig and Weston Kissinger.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Mikel Kissinger.

Windy’s love of life and her positive attitude were spread to all who knew her. When anyone asked “How are you?” she would always reply, “I’m fine” and she is!

Memorial services are to be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday, July 20, at the Wittkopp-Schneider Funeral Home in Plymouth with the Rev. Michael Safford-Kennedy officiating. Friends may call at the funeral home on Tuesday from 4:30 p.m. until the time of service. Everyone is invited to gather and share supper and favorite memories of Windy after the service.
