ERNA (WILLIAMS) ACHTER

Erna Achter, age 99, of 1200A Reed St., Plymouth, Wis., passed away at Sheboygan Memorial Medical Center on Tuesday evening, July 20, 2010.

She was born on Sept. 14, 1910 in New Holstein, Wis., a daughter of the late Bernard and Marie Voss Williams.

Erna graduated from New Holstein High School in 1928 and attended Sheboygan Business College.

In 1931 she married Ferdinand Achter in Waukegan, Ill. The couple resided in rural Cascade for more than 40 years. Her husband preceded her in death on July 11, 1985.

Erna was a member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth.

She is survived by her children, JoAnn (Harold) Krueger of Viola, Wis., Bette Davis of Morristown, Ariz., Glenn (Margaret) Achter of Oneida, Wis., Lois (Joel) Slabe of Hayward, Wis.; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-greatgrandchildren; and one brother, Earl Williams.

Also survived by many other relatives and many friends.

She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Mary; and brothers, Art, Ervin and Norman.

A funeral Mass was held on Friday morning, July 23, at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church in Plymouth. The very Rev. Dennis Van Beek, pastor of the church officiated. Burial took place in St. Mary’s Catholic cemetery in Cascade.
