Founders honored

To the Editor:

A sellout crowd of over 300 guests enjoyed the fifth annual Fashion on the Lake extravaganza. This year’s event was the finale for what has become a signature benefit for the Sharon S. Richardson Community Hospice. The team of founders and hosts – Linda and Jim Jarr, Eileen Simenz (Salon Sase), Marion Kuether (JOMAJI Salon & Spa) and Paulette Janishewski (Boston Store) – have worked tirelessly with passion and commitment since 2006 to plan, support and execute what has grown into the event of the season.

The five-year results have been outstanding with almost 1,700 guests, models, and volunteers participating in the fanfare – generating $56,500 in contributions to the Hospice Patient Care Fund. This fund is available to supplement the patient’s ability to pay when needed.

We are sending this message with heartfelt appreciation to our hosts, the downtown businesses that have so generously supported their efforts on our behalf, along with all of the guests and volunteers who have filled the South Pier tent each year as evidence that the community has embraced our hospice mission. We are blessed!

Mary T. Brasseaux, FACHE, hospice administrator
