Gratitude
To the Editor:
I wish to express a public “thank you” to the Plymouth Municipal Band, for the Life Achievement Award, presented me at this past Thursday “German Night” concert. I was not prepared for this occasion, and was unable to capture the microphone and acknowledge my gratitude for this honor, in front of all my music friends/listeners/ partners!
I use the word gratitude because I consider my participation with the Plymouth music scene has not been just all my innovation. Our mom and dad wanted to be proud of us children and threw in the idea: broaden your horizons and share whatever talents/knowledge we might accumulate.
Thus, I have tried to fulfill my wonderful parents’ wishes. But I have been fortunate to share many, many, many experiences with only a modicum of talent in vocal and instrumental mediums. So I must be grateful to all my “partners in music,” and must allow them to carry on sans my help due to that inevitable “old age”!
Thanks to all, Plymouth!
