Morgan Aircraft expands website
Morgan Aircraft LLC (Morgan), Oostburg, developer of the world’s first Civil VTOL Jet, has announced that it has greatly expanded its website which was formerly provided only to support investor relations.
“Since we have been awarded additional patent coverage for stability and control systems, and as we’ve engaged many industry third parties including NASA, we can now come out into the public forum to tell the world what we have been up to for the last five years,” said Brian Morgan.
“It is a wonderful opportunity to tell the world what we have been doing since the formation of Morgan Aircraft in 2005. We have spent $7 million verifying that the technology has caught up to the concept of a VTOL Civil Jet which can take travelers door-to-door, requiring only a 50-foot clearing to safely land and take off,” added Mark O’Halloran, CEO of the advancing aviation concern.
“In November of 2009, our second patent was issued for additional methods of aircraft attitude control. This broadened the coverage of our initial patent issued in January 2005, which detailed the aeromechanical configuration of our Extremely Maneuverable Jet (EM-J). This additional patent protection allows us to finally tell the public about the advances we have been making behind closed doors for the last five years,” said Dan Wright, director of operations.
The website will include photos and video of many of the 10 subscale prototypes which were flown to study the aerodynamics of this unique configuration. The new Morgan site introduces the world-class team that has made incredible advances integrating ducted fan technology vertical lift into their uniquely configured fixed wing airframe.
There will also be Web tabs devoted to the history of Morgan, as well as contact information for the press, and for aviation professionals seeking new career opportunities. The Morgan site will have articles about the development process and members of their team, news articles that have appeared on television and in print, and links to other companies with which they have been working.
