DELIA ROSE ROSSINI PRINSTER
Delia Rose Rossini Prinster passed away quietly in her home on Aug. 2, 2010.
Delia was born March 14, 1924 to Louis Rossini and Nicolina Bombagi Rossini, and grew up in Plymouth, Wis.
Delia earned a bachelor of science degree in home economics from the University of Wisconsin at Madison and became a registered dietician at the University of Michigan in 1947, including a residency at Butterworth Hospital in Grand Rapids, Mich.
During the summer of 1946, Del met Joseph Prinster in Grand Lake, Colo. They were married on Sept. 13, 1947 in Plymouth. She and Joe settled in Grand Junction, Colo., where she worked as the first registered dietician for St. Mary’s Hospital, as well as a dietetic educator.
Together, Del and Joe raised six children. Del was one of the founding members of the Co-workers of Mother Teresa, and remained active until recently. She was also a member of St. Bridget’s Circle.
Delia leaves behind a loving family, including her husband of 63 years, Joseph Prinster; her six children, Joseph Jr. (Mary Kay Braccio) of Boulder, Colo., John of West Palm Beach, Fla., Lisa Tuthill (Howard Tuthill) of Avon, Colo., Steven Prinster of Tucson, Ariz., Daniel Prinster (Elise Prinster) of Grand Junction, and James Prinster (Julie Prinster) of Grand Junction; her brother, Dario Rossini of Sun City, Ariz.; her sister, Lillian Rossini of Grand Junction; and 17 grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by one grandchild, Katherine.
A Mass of Christian burial was said by Father Edmundo at St. Joseph’s Church on Friday morning, Aug. 6. In lieu of flowers, please make donations to the Holy Family Catholic School Scholarship Fund, 78626-1/2 Road, Grand Junction, CO 81506.
